The city of Las Vegas is gearing up for the celebration of Miss Universe pageant, a crown that candidates will vie for more than 80 countries at a gala to be held on 23 August.
Rocker Bret Michaels and Natalie Morales of "Today" show on NBC, will serve as presenters at the ceremony, which was held at the Mandalay Bay hotel and will feature musical performances by John Legend and The Roots, among others.
"There is hottest time of year in Las Vegas during the month of August," said Donald Trump, who owns the Miss Universe franchise. "If you add that 80 of the world's most beautiful women competing for the title, Las Vegas is going to be hot," he added.
The Miss Universe 2009, Venezuelan Stefania Fernandez, return the crown after 12 months of her reign that made her mature. The girl, 19, recently admitted to Efe feel "sad" after completing this adventure.
